Dr. Cristiane W. Raubach is a highly accomplished researcher and Vice-Director of the Center for Technological Development (CDTec) at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel). She has been a permanent faculty member since 2016 and is a key contributor to the Graduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering (PPGCEM). Dr. Raubach's research focuses on the design, synthesis, and application of nanostructured materials, with a specialized emphasis on advanced systems for both environmental and medical fields. Her core expertise includes the Technology and Development of Composite Materials and, specifically, Biomaterials. Her work is at the intersection of chemistry and engineering, applying novel materials to create functional solutions. She leads research projects aimed at developing new generation biomaterials and functional composites, alongside studies integrating advanced materials for photocatalysis, addressing critical challenges in environmental remediation and sustainable processes. Dr. Raubach holds a Ph.D. in Sciences (Chemistry) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar, 2013), and both an M.Sc. in Chemistry and a B.Sc. in Chemical Education from UFPel. She is also a recognized researcher, holding a CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship (Level C).

Full Professor in the Department of Physics at the Federal University of Maranhão. Her research focuses on Condensed Matter Physics, with an emphasis on Electronic States, mainly working on the following topics: electronic structure of carbon nanomaterials, boron nitride and gallium nitride, density functional theory. She obtained her doctorate (2004), master's degree (2000) and bachelor's degree in physics (1995) from the Federal University of Santa Maria. Coordinator of the Simulation Laboratory at the Federal University of Maranhão.

Dr. Aline Gonçalves Capella is an associate professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) in Brazil. She holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in laser-based materials processing. Among her current research lines, she has been developing the integration of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques for the quantitative and predictive analysis of metallic alloys techniques quantitatively and predictively analyzing metallic alloys. Her recent work emphasizes ensemble regression models to improve the robustness of LIBS quantification, contributing to the advancement of AI-driven spectroscopy and materials characterization.

Prof. Guilherme Yuuki Koga is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and the Technical Director of the Center for Materials Characterization and Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Université Grenoble Alpes, as well as an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Materials Engineering from UFSCar. He worked for three years as an R&D engineer at the Holcim Innovation Center in France. Since July 2024, he has served as Head of the Department of Materials Engineering. He is also a member of the editorial board of Discover Materials (Springer Nature). Prof. Koga’s research interests span metallurgy, corrosion, wear, and cementitious materials, with emphasis on interdisciplinary, multiscale, and applied studies focused on developing durable materials for extreme environments. He leads the eXtreme MATerials Group (XMAT Group).

Alisa Stratulat is an experienced engineer and materials science specialist with a strong background in research, product development, and applied microscopy. She has worked in advanced materials R&D, including roles in industrial laboratories developing sensor materials and in applications support for microscopy technologies. Alisa holds a doctorate in Materials Science from the University of Oxford and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from Smith College. In her current role as the Head of EMEA Image Analysis at MIPAR, Alisa is passionate about leveraging image analysis and AI to solve complex problems, support innovation, and drive practical solutions across scientific and industrial applications.
